Aug 9 Sun 8AM MEMBERS ONLY PU'U KEAHI A KAHOE

(11 Mi/Advanced/Ridge/Moanalua)

This is a "wow" hike because the grand view at the top will wow you. It's also a "whoa" hike because the route along the top is whoa so narrow. It's even a "Whoopee" hike because that's what you yell while sliding down the middle ridge through the uluhe. Why wait? Join us on this wild wondrous walk. Coordinator Dave Sanford, ph 488-4419.

Kahana Valley's serenity belies its strong cultural and historic background. The trail meanders past monster mango trees and rusting remnants of WWII, bunkers and all. Best of all is the lovely pool, deep in the interior, just waiting for you; a cooling dip and or a luscious lunch would be appropriate. Coordinator Mike Mottl, ph 254-6360.

Sept 19 Sat 6PM Clubhouse APPRECIATION NIGHT

Our annual Mahalo evening to honor the trail maintenance crew, hike coordinators, directors and committee members is our way of expressing our appreciation for all their kokua. Sep 26 Sat 9AM PU'U MA'ELI'ELI

(3 Mi/Novice/Ridge/Kahalu'u)

A great hike! It's a relatively new approach for the club to this hike, starting from He'eia State Park. We do a rather short climb to the top of the ridge where there is an old World War II bunker. Oct 4 Sun 8AM MA'AKUA GULCH

(6 Mi/Intermediate/Valley/Ha'uula)

You hike on the right of the stream, you hike on the left of the stream, and you shake your boots about, you do the rock hop hop, and you twist and turn around, that's what it's all about. Rock hop hopping, rock hop hopping all the way to the lunch spot at the first pool. Coordinators Carole Moon, ph 596-4864 and Charlotte Yamane, ph 235-1748.

Oct 10 Sat 9AM KALAUAO
